One AI editor was 1.1 GB installed and 3 GB in data

Agent editors like Devin, Kiro and Antigravity keep web storage, caches and logs in Application Support. Measured: 3.01 GB for one of them.

The new agent editors are VS Code descendants or Electron apps with an AI agent built in. The installed app is large, but the data they build up afterwards is larger, and none of it is visible in /Applications.

Where Devin's 3 GB went

WebStorage1.20 GBOnly with the app quit, and it may sign you out
Cache730 MBYes
User430 MBNo. Settings, workspace state and history
logs329 MBYes
CachedData194 MBYes
Crashpad99 MBYes

Cache, logs, cached data and crash dumps came to 1.35 GB here, all safe to remove and all rebuilt only as needed. The logs alone were larger than many whole apps.

Check yours

for d in Devin Kiro Antigravity Cursor Windsurf Code; do
  p="$HOME/Library/Application Support/$d"
  [ -d "$p" ] && du -sh "$p"/* 2>/dev/null | sort -h | tail -6
done

A cleanup that keeps your setup

# Quit the app first
cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Devin
rm -rf Cache CachedData Crashpad logs

Leave User and anything named globalStorage or workspaceStorage: they are your settings and per-project state. Stuck update downloads are covered in ShipIt folders, and why these apps are big to begin with in Electron apps taking up space. The terminal agents are in AI coding tools taking up space.

Common questions

Why do AI coding apps use so much disk space?

They are built on a browser engine and keep a full browser profile: web storage, caches, logs and crash dumps. On the Mac measured one kept 3.01 GB of data.

Is it safe to clear Devin or Kiro caches?

Yes, with the app quit. Cache, CachedData, logs and Crashpad are rebuilt as needed. Keep the User folder, which holds your settings.

Where do AI editors store their data on a Mac?

In ~/Library/Application Support, in a folder named after the app, for example Devin, Kiro or Antigravity.

What is the WebStorage folder in an Electron app?

Local storage and IndexedDB for the app's web pages. Clearing it can sign you out, so treat it as data rather than cache.
