Why is it using battery?
The widget asks for fresh locations on a schedule, and each update means a little network and work. It ran for the whole session on our Mac, and in one sample sat on the energy list above the browser.
How do I stop it?
Remove the Find My widget from the desktop or Notification Center: right click it, Remove Widget. The extension stops when no widget needs it. Find My itself keeps working.
