Roblox on a Mac: the app, Studio, and a logs folder that keeps growing

Roblox and Roblox Studio install separately and keep downloads and logs in your Library. Where they are, how big they get, and how to clean up.

3 min read

Roblox itself is modest in size, but it keeps downloaded content and log files in your Library, and Roblox Studio is a second, larger app. On a family Mac, both can be installed without anyone remembering.

Measure it

du -sh /Applications/Roblox*.app 2>/dev/null
du -sh ~/Library/Roblox ~/Library/Logs/Roblox 2>/dev/null
find ~/Library -maxdepth 2 -iname '*roblox*' -exec du -sh {} + 2>/dev/null

What is safe to clear

  • Logs in ~/Library/Logs/Roblox: safe to delete at any time.
  • Downloaded content: rebuilt when games are played again.
  • Roblox Studio, if nobody builds games: delete it from Applications.

Account progress lives online, so removing local files does not lose anything in a game.

Uninstalling completely

Quit Roblox, drag the apps to the Trash, then remove the folders found above. See uninstalling leaves files behind.

Other games on a family Mac: Minecraft, game launchers.
