How do I uninstall pgAdmin on a Mac?

  1. Export your saved servers if you want them: Tools > Import/Export Servers.
  2. Quit pgAdmin and move pgAdmin 4 from Applications to the Trash. Ours, version 9.9, was 743 MB.
  3. Move ~/.pgadmin to the Trash: saved servers, settings and logs.
  4. Remove ~/Library/Caches/org.pgadmin.pgadmin4, its preferences plist, and ~/Library/HTTPStorages/org.pgadmin.pgadmin4.

Why is pgAdmin so big?

It is a web app with its own copy of a browser and a Python runtime inside. On our Mac pgAdmin 4 was 743 MB, against 71 MB and 77 MB for PostgreSQL 15 and 16 themselves.

Does removing pgAdmin remove PostgreSQL?

No. pgAdmin is only a client. See uninstall PostgreSQL for the server.
